As the day progressed today, I observed that some members of our community are struggling with the results of the election, expressing fear, disbelief, frustration and sadness. For those having these reactions, I want to remind you that we are a caring community who want and need to support each other. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to family, friends, colleagues, staff or others, including our campus CAPS counseling service if you feel you need help.
Others in our community may be happy with the results of the election. I hope and pray that we can all be civil as we discuss our differences, while embracing the COP core values of respect and professionalism.
The Ginsberg Center and Counseling and Psychological Services office is facilitating a Post-election Dialogue: Impact, Perspective-taking, and Moving Forward. This event is part of the Student Life Professional Development Conference on Thursday at 1 – 2 p.m. in the Michigan League’s Henderson Room.
