Mary Sue Coleman, president of the Association of American Universities, says the association that represents the nation’s top research universities, including the University of Michigan, will work with the incoming administration to support DREAMer college students. “We appreciate President-elect Trump’s comments regarding DREAMers – young people who were brought to this country by their families as children. Many of them have never known life outside the United States and are now working hard to earn college degrees. As the president-elect said, this is a situation that calls for a humanitarian approach. We stand ready to work with the incoming administration as it seeks to implement such an approach, which we hope will permit students to continue their education and contribute to American excellence.” Coleman is a former U-M president.
